In this section we have presented these submissions so that producers and engineers throughout the world can become aware of the efforts and arguments being made on their behalf by ESDA.

There is also an 'Annex' document that we prepared to try to explain the recording process and the role of the producer for those who are less familiar with what goes on in a studio.

SUBMISSION to the WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ORGANISATION on ROME CONVENTION, 1961, INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION FOR THE PROTECTION OF PERFORMERS, PRODUCERS OF PHONOGRAMS AND BROADCASTING ORGANISATIONS.

Argues that the term sound director should be included within the definition of performer and so qualify for participation in performance incomes

Argues that sound directors and studio producers should receive fair and equal treatment as stakeholders in the internal market.
